For Immediate Release: NEW YORK FENCING ACADEMY PREVAILS, BOTH AT HOME AND ABROAD

Brooklyn, NY (October 31, 2013) – On October 26-27, 2013, Brooklyn based New York Fencing Academy athletes earned eight medals from tournaments in France and Rochester, NY.  In all, 288 athletes competed in a two-day Youth 17 tournament in Henin-Beaumont, France. NYFA fencer, Romaine Cannone earned 3rd place in the French Cadet Qualifier, making him eligible to fence for France at the Bonn Cadet European Circuit next week. This is a great achievement for Romaine and NYFA.

Also competing last weekend in the Ben Gutenberg Memorial Super Youth Circuit in Rochester, NY, Nathan Vaysberg took home Gold in the Y14 age group. Jacklyn Khrol received Silver in Y10 and 6th place in Y12. Skyler Liverant, Bronze in Y10; Bennett Cohen, 5th place in Y14; Alan Temiryaev, 5th place in Y12 and Mark Dolgonos, 8th place in Y10.

New York Fencing Academy, is quickly becoming a center for excellence in epee with one of the strongest competitive epee youth programs in the tri-state area. In just three years NYFA has produced several nationally-ranked fencers earning Champion and Finalist titles at North American Cups, Summer Nationals, Super Youth Circuits, a silver at the Pan American Games and now a fencer on the French Cadet Team.
