NEW E & UNDER AND Y10/Y14 EVENTS

We’ve added 2 new tournaments in December – sign up if you are eligible:

1. This Saturday, 12/22: E & under Mixed Epee: http://askfred.net/Events/whoIsComing.php?tournament_id=20920
All Unrated and E fencers, 13+ This is your chance to get a rating!

2. Sunday, 12/30: Winter Camp Beginners Y10 / Y14 Mixed Epee: http://askfred.net/Events/whoIsComing.php?tournament_id=20921
We will end our camp with a youth tournament which will be free for campers, and open to anyone for $15 if pre-registered/$30 at the door.

We will also continue to have our Saturday Round Robin Mixed Epee pool events every week throughout the season.

Remember teammates and friends are always welcome to come fence with us at NYFA.

There will be more fun tournaments planned for the new year – something for everyone – stay tuned!

SATURDAY EPEE ROUND ROBINS BEGIN OCT 20

We are happy to announce that our Saturday Senior Mixed Epee Round Robin Tournaments are back, starting this weekend.
All fencers are welcome to join us!
Our first 4 Saturday Round Robins are scheduled for:
  • October 20
  • October 27
  •  November 3
  • November 10
Time: 3:30 pm close of registration, event begins by 4:30 pm
Location:  NYFA, 2896 W 12th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11224

Cost:  Free for A & B rated fencers and NYFA members,
$5 for high school team members,  $10 others

NYFA WEEKEND RESULTS: 1 SILVER, 4 BRONZE, 2 TOP 8

We congratulate the following NYFA athletes who earned top 8 finishes in this weekend’s competitions:

Cobra Regional Youth Circuit (RYC) in Jersey City:

  • Anton Chmut – 2nd place in Y12 (qualified for Summer Nationals)
  • Nathan Vaysberg – 7th place in Y12 (qualified for Nationals)
  • Jaclyn Khrol – 3rd place in Y12; 3rd place in Y10 (qualified for Nationals)
  • Mark Dolgonos – 3rd place in Y10 (qualified for Nationals)
  • Abigail Soto – 3rd place in Y14

Fencers Club Senior Men’s Epee Open in New York:

  • Romain Cannone – 5th place in adult A2 event out of 43 fencers

We’ve added more NYFA events to our calendar.  Take advantage of these  opportunities to gain valuable competitive experience.  All NYFA tournaments are open to the public.  Ratings may be awarded per USFA guidelines.
