“As a parent, I cannot say enough great things about the experience at the NYFA. My son was a newcomer to the world of fencing, and I was initially hesitant, but this club has exceeded all my expectations in every possible way.”
— Ning

“This club is the absolute best in New York. The facility is safe, clean, spacious with ample parking outside. Coach Sergey is a world class coach with great experience. He is very humble and friendly, loves what he does, and is a great role model for every athlete.”
— Nick

“This is an excellent school with highly motivated and caring professionals. Kids learn the sport, discipline, and work ethic. Their camp program is wonderful, too. It’s well organized and provides a great opportunity to progress quickly, make new friends, and become more independent. Highly recommend!”
— Dilia

Fencing Builds Discipline, Passion, and Drive

Within the first few months of joining, parents of new students tell us how impressed they are by their child’s discipline and focus at our club. This resilience and drive often translate to improved performance at school and a healthy embrace of challenges in all aspects of life.

Fencing combines a high level of athleticism with the need to think procedurally and strategically. As such, it makes a great activity for active kids who also enjoy problem-solving and intellectual challenges.

The #1 Sport for College Scholarships

32% of male fencers and 38% of female fencers who compete in high school will continue to compete in college with a partial or full scholarship. Compare that to football which only sees about 7.8% of its students continue with the sport in college. Fencing can really benefit your college application and enrich your college experience.

The New York Fencing Academy’s athletes are currently studying at Columbia, Harvard, Duke, and other top-rated schools.

“We feel blessed to have this world class fencing club with such outstanding coaches on Long Island. We have been with this club since it opened and will continue to grow with NYFA. ALL coaches are phenomenal…devoted to teaching and honing skills. Classes are extremely helpful for competition at all levels. Thank you NYFA for making fencing such a fun and exciting part of our lives.”
— G.

“There’s not enough great things I can say about NYFA. The coaches here are truly the best. My son is 8 and starting fencing about 6 months ago. His coach, Slava, is so dedicated, takes a lot of time with him, is beyond patient, and overall just a very caring and motivating coach. It shows because my son has grown so much in the short time he’s been there.”
— Jessica

“We tried many different sports for our kids over the years but never got such a positive response from them as practicing fencing. They are always eager to go and develop their skills, I highly recommend NYFA. Many thanks to the team, Yaroslav, Mikhail, Marina and Anton.”
— Lenny
