Slava started fencing at the age of 8 in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. At the age of 14, Slava entered the High School of Physical Culture, a special boarding school in Ukraine for high-performance athletes.
During his professional career, Slava was a winner and medalist of national-level competitions. He was awarded the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine, highest rank-award in Ukraine. Slava also obtained the degree of Sports Coach in Physical Education, Trainer-teacher of fencing at the National University of Physical Education and Sports in the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv. In 2008, he obtained a second higher education in the field of Organization Management.
in 2021 Slava moved to New York to continue his coaching career with New York Fencing Academy.
